Esteban Guerrieri claimed his fourth Formula Renault 3.5 victory of the season with minimal fuss at Hockenheim this afternoon. From pole position, ISR's Argentinean lost the lead to fellow front row starter Daniel Zampieri into the first corner, but recovered the position three corners later after gaining a slipstream through Parabolika and passing the Ferrari Academy driver on the exit of the hairpin. Once ahead, Guerrieri recorded a sequence of fastest laps to build a lead of approaching seven seconds
Matt Neal hacked into Jason Plato's British Touring Car Championship lead as he took victory in the second race of the day at Knockhill.
Paul di Resta took his first DTM victory of the season in dominant fashion at Brands Hatch. The Scot blasted out of the blocks into a commanding lead in the early laps, pulling away at half a second a lap for a while. He got the lead up to 13 seconds by half distance, before backing off and bringing his Mercedes home in the closing stages
The podium finishers in the San Marino MotoGP race paid tribute to Shoya Tomizawa after the Japanese rider lost his life in a Moto2 crash, and said his death totally overshadowed their results. The 19-year-old Moto2 frontrunner died in hospital at 14.20 local time, having suffered severe injuries when he fell amid the lead pack and was struck by two other bikes. Tomizawa had been one of the stars of the inaugural Moto2 season.
Dean Stoneman is within reach of the Formula 2 title after clinching his sixth win of the season at Oschersleben on Sunday. The 20-year-old Briton cruised to an unchallenged victory, while title rival Jolyon Palmer failed to score in 12th place
Japanese rider Shoya Tomizawa has died as a result of injuries sustained in today's Moto2 race at Misano.
