I represent and warrant that (a) the Works are my own original work and not quoted or copied from other sources; (b) I have full rights and authority to license the Works to iRacing.com as provided above; (c) I did not disclose any confidential or proprietary information in providing the Works; and (d) the Works do not contain any content that is indecent, libelous, defamatory, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, harassing or expressions of hatred, bigotry, racism or pornography; or that is otherwise objectionable, or that would constitute or encourage a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party or violate any law. I will indemnify and hold harmless iRacing.com from and against any and all claims, demands and actions, and any liabilities, damages and expenses (including court costs and attorneys fees) arising out of my breach of any of these representations or warranties.

  3. Release. I grant iRacing.com and its assignees and licensees the irrevocable right and consent to use my name, statements, video or photographic image, voice reproduction, performance and other likenesses created by iRacing.com or furnished by me (“Likenesses”) in the Works, in advertising the Works, and for other legitimate purposes, in all forms and media now known or later developed, provided however that all uses of my Likenesses will be subject to my prior written consent, which I will not unreasonably withhold, condition or delay. Notwithstanding the foregoing, iRacing.com may use my name to credit me as author of the Works without first obtaining my consent. I release iRacing.com, and its assignees and licensees, from all claims and demands that may arise from using these Likenesses as described above, including but not limited to claims for defamation, invasion of privacy or right of publicity. If I provided a photo of me, I represent that I own all rights, or sufficient rights, to authorize this use without iRacing.com incurring any monetary or other liability. I agree that no payment or remuneration in any form will be paid by iRacing.com for the use of my Likenesses and that any professional recognition I may obtain is sufficient consideration.

  4. Consideration. I understand that the consideration referred to at the beginning of this Agreement is the sole and exclusive consideration that I will receive with respect to the licenses and releases granted by me under this Agreement. Without limitation, unless expressly agreed in writing by iRacing otherwise, I will not be paid any license fee or remuneration in any other form in consideration of the licenses or releases granted by me under this Agreement.

  5. Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties hereto; supersedes any prior oral or written agreement or understanding between the parties; and may not be modified or amended except by a writing signed by both parties.

  6. Governing Law. This Agreement will be governed by the United States Copyright Act and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its choice of laws provisions. I irrevocably agree that any action or proceeding arising from or relating to this Agreement may be brought only in the Federal and state courts located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

  7. I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOREGOING TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND AGREE THAT MY SUBMISSION OF WORKS OF AUTHORSHIP TO IRACING.COM CONSTITUTES MY AGREEMENT TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT WITH RESPECT TO SUCH WORKS.

iRacing Takes Realism To The Next Level

With the 2010 Season 3 build, iRacing unveiled a new transmission model that introduces a much higher level of realism to the online racing mix in terms of shifting options.  Previously, clicking out of a gear or into another gear would instantly do just that - regardless of whether or not such a gear change would actually be physically possible.

Fixed Setups — Creating A Level Playing Field?

All of this talk about fixed setups got me to thinking, and when it comes down to it, I realized that I don't really have a good idea of how fixed setups would impact me, personally.   So as an experiment I ran an online race in the Rookie Solstice last night, just to see what jumping into a fixed-setup race

Fixed Setups and iRacing: Empowering Your Inner Driver or Frustrating Your Inner Engineer?

When iRacing unveiled the 2010 Season 3 schedule they also announced the addition of two new fixed-setup series -- both of these fixed-setup series will be B-Class series, featuring the C6.R Corvette on the road course side, and the Impala SS Class B on the oval side.  These new fixed-setup series will run in addition to the existing open (adjustable)

Sharp Abe’s Short Tracks

My old buddy Abe was a tall imposing guy; kind of scary-looking in fact. I found out how scary one time when I asked him to remove a tree for me. I came back hours later and he was still getting his axe ready. You see, Abe was kind of a bit crazy about preparation. His axiom was “give me

Hot and Tired

I have always been confused by sim racers who complain about the tire temperatures being meaningless and wrong in iRacing, as I have always had the opposite experience since they tweaked the tire model last year. In fact, I find that reading the tire temperatures is vital when trying to tweak a setup. There are a couple of things to

Tips from a Human Sim-Racer

Welcome to tips from a human sim-racer.  Unlike the alien iRacers I only have two eyes, two hands and two feet.  I don’t have eyes in the back of my head and my reflexes are only slightly better than average.  This article is designed to help you increase your iRating and lower your lap times.  While many of you don’t

Sim Racing Setup Advice from a Blockhead

William Blake said that only blockheads copy each other, but obviously he’s never tried to set up a racecar, real or simulated. While working on setting-up the Dallara for the iRacing.com Indy 500 event, I was struck by some of the detailed advice Dale Jr had made on the iRacing forums about setting up the COT, which was a great

Adjusting the Nut Behind the Wheel

We are often in search of the perfect setup, for obvious reasons.  But doing a lot of tinkering in the garage can be quite intimidating, and at the end of it all there may not be a perfect universal setup since driving styles can differ from person to person. So a setup that feels optimal to one person may be

FPS is Still King

Well, Black Friday came and went and left me with an Eyefinity upgrade project which I finally was able to tackle a couple of weeks ago. Unsurprisingly I found it necessary to upgrade the CPU as well since my frame rates in testing were, shall we say, challenged. Of course, I can only really notice slow frame rates during testing

Sim Racing’s Code of Uncertainty

A cop pulls over Heisenberg, and asks him “Do you know how fast you were going?” and he answered “No, but I know where I am.” It’s a geeky scientist joke about the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle which states the more precisely you know the location of something, the less you know about its velocity, and vice versa.
